A small painted plaster sculpture depicting a skull resting on a small red silk quilted cushion. The cushion, which depicts a child’s skull, is supported by a thin gilded copper wire frame, with embossed leaves carved from thin sheets of gilded copper. A bird in flight is depicted at the top. Rectangular mirrors are attached to the frame. Italy, late 19th century.
