Height measuring instrument, used for military recruitment. The cast iron base is richly decorated and features the Savoy coat of arms. Raised on two arms, it supports a graduated wooden measuring rod and a sliding brass lever at the top. Kingdom of Piedmont and Sardinia, mid 19th century.
