Round snuffbox crafted from 18K gold, tortoiseshell, and painted using the gouache technique. The snuffbox features gold frames on both the top and bottom, finely decorated with motifs of ribbons, lacework, and a burin engraved background. These ornate frames extendslightly onto the upper part of the side. The opening section includes a gold frame at the base with the same intricate design, while the rim of the lid is finished with a smooth, undecorated border.
The interior of the box is entirely lined with tortoiseshell. The exterior surface is fullyadorned with bucolic scenes, painted in gouache. On the lid, set against a romantic landscape with a castle, a hunting scene, and birds, two children are depicted playing with white doves beneath a central tree. The base shows several figures walking along a river near a tower and an arched structure. The sides display a continuous pastoral landscape, featuring a castle, a building, and strolling figures.
