A large branch of Mediterranean red coral (Corallium Rubrum) from a cabinet of curiosities. The circular base with a wavy edge is made of embossed silver. The first register features leaves, while the second is smooth. The third register features embossed acanthus and obol motifs. The base, wavy in circles, features embossed leaves, as above. Italy, early 19th century.
