A string of bronze pearls emphasizes the vertical detachment of the column. In front of a Parisian. The face of the Parisian clock is also in alabaster. Above it rests a sculpture of a skull, in patinated scagliola plaster to emulate stone, wrapped in the racemes and flowers of a plant made out of brass. France, about 1850.
