A Pair of large Russian Biedermeier obelisks. The entire body is enriched with a mosaic of malachite slabs. Each base is made out of single blocks of Portoro marble with curved profile that narrows towards the top. The feet are gilt bronze, ormolu. In the center of the front side of the base, also in gilded bronze ormolu, two embracing angels over leaves and racemes. A square frame with laurel leaves holds the malachite obelisk. Over it a laurel crown with ribbons and an angel over fruits and ribbons. Russia, 1880 ca.
