A pair of coral branches from Wunderkammer, Italy 1850.
Italy 1850.
4800 EURO
Pair of branches of Mediterranean red coral, ‘Corallium Rubrum’, mounted on a gilt bronze base. The realization of the bases sees different techniques: the lost wax casting, the hammer and the chisel. The circular base, in painted wood, holds the gilt bronze support in the shape of a vase with floral decorations. At the end of the handles, there are two ram heads. In the center of the vase, a flower decorated holder rises up which welcomes the coral branches. Italy circa 1850.
