A sampler of antique Grand Tour marbles in the shape of a banner. A selection of 10 colored profiled marbles (African, French Red, Clouded Alabaster, Old Red Macchia, Lapis Lazuli, Striped Onyx, Genoa Red, Griot, Spanish Brocatello, Breccia di Avello), inserted into rectangular bronze stencils and secured to a panel of Italian walnut. At the four corners, there is a flower-shaped decoration with petals, crafted in gilded bronze with a lapis lazuli cabochon set in the center. At the top, there is a thick bronze band with a circular element in the center decorated in relief with a lapis lazuli cabochon. At the lower base, there is a bronze leaf-shaped finish. The back of the frame with its headboards is made of fir wood. Italy, early 19th century.
