Anatomical sculpture, cast out of plaster, depicts a flayed man standing over an oval base in a classical pose with lifted arm. This is late neoclassical replica for academy purpose. By the famous french neoclassical sculptor Jacques Eugene Caudron (1818-1865). The opera was named “l’Ecorchè Combattant” (The skinned fighter), the original statue was made in 1845 at the request of doctor Antoine-Louis-Julien Fau. Original patina. France circa 1880.
