Anatomical model for classroom use, depicting the external and internal ear, made of white plaster and mounted on a rectangular black wooden base. Designed for educational purposes in public education. Made in Germany, end of XIX century by Gerhard A. Ricker company. The famous German company Gerhard A. Ricker (often referred to simply as G. A. Ricker), was based in Leipzig, Germany. Between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Leipzig was one of the world’s leading centers for the production of educational and scientific materials, as well as anatomical models. The Sammlung Anatomischer Modelle (Collection of Anatomical Models) was a renowned series of three-dimensional educational models. The company label on this model by G. A. Ricker (Leipzig) dates back to production from the late 1800s to the very early 1900s (roughly between 1885 and 1905).
