An Art Nouveau whistle made of carved Boxwood, depicting a smiling face of a blindfolded woman. The terminal part, the actual whistle, is made of deer horn, engraved with the phrase in French: Minerve combat la Fable (Minerva fights the fable). France, late 19th century.
