A pair of small Vienna bronze desk bookends from the Animalier movement, each depicting a bulldog positioned on an irregular, rocky base beneath a tree that serves as a literal “wall” to support the books. The pieces are enhanced by subtle details and a beautiful warm dark patina. Marked ‘Austria’ on the flat side of the base. Austria, circa 1890.
