Small, round vinaigrette box made of silver and enamel. The lid is also silver, finished with a purple guilloche enamel. Inside the box is a second, perforated and engraved lid, beneath which a swab soaked in perfume or salts was placed, which ladies would sniff when they were ill. The interior is gilded, and in the center of the lid is a small sapphire, set in the english style, which allows access to the box’s interior. Birmingham, UK, 1910-11.
